ANZ Investments wins Morningstar’s NZ Fund Manager of the Year award
ANZ Investments is proud to have won the top award at the 2020 Morningstar Fund Manager of the Year awards.
ANZ Investments was named Overall New Zealand Fund Manager of the Year; with Morningstar praising the team for its impressive analysis, experience and strong outcomes across the board in 2019.
“This is a tremendous honour for our team. It is a tribute to Chief Investment Officer Paul Huxford and our Investment Management team; and our wider team at ANZ Wealth and Private Bank, who all contributed to this result,” said Craig Mulholland, Managing Director of ANZ Wealth & Private Bank.
ANZ was also named New Zealand Fund Manager of the Year: KiwiSaver category. ANZ has more than 740,000 KiwiSaver customers and the Morningstar judges noted the quality and depth of ANZ’s team.
The OneAnswer International Share Fund won the award for New Zealand Fund Manager of the Year: Global Equities category. This fund is managed by external managers, carefully selected and monitored by ANZ.

ANZ Investments believes the awards are recognition of the value of active management.
“Our KiwiSaver funds had strong returns last year relative to our peers, and this was achieved by following a long-term investment process in a disciplined way. Our active approach means we monitor local and international markets to identify what we believe are the best opportunities; and we have a focus on high quality and diversified investments.”
Mr Mulholland said it’s also pleasing to see ANZ’s strategy has performed well relative to its peers across 10 years.
“There has been a lot of focus on fees. We agree with that; but think it is even more important for investors to focus on their returns after fees. Through our active management approach we believe we can deliver strong returns over the long term for our investors.”
