ANZ volunteers for 1.4 million hours

"Helping others through volunteer work provides a sense of personal achievement and is a great way to connect with co-workers and the community." - Brendan Tong, Segment Manager ANZ Commercial Banking.

ANZ’s corporate volunteer program started in 2001 with an initial goal to provide 50,000 volunteer hours each year to local communities.

Twenty-one years on, ANZ proudly exceeds this each year and has contributed more than 1.4 million hours since the program began.

Brendan Tong, Segment Manager, ANZ Commercial Banking, has been volunteering for 10 years, supporting a number of different charities and community groups.

Reflecting on his personal experience,  Brendan says “helping others through volunteer work provides a sense of personal achievement and is a great way to connect with co-workers and the community”.

ANZ’s volunteering program turns 21 this month and what better time to recognise this milestone than during National Volunteer Week 16 - 22 May.
