The announcement was the culmination of months of hard work across a variety of departments including mergers and acquisitions, legal, finance, retail and commercial banking, and many others.

To fully explain the announcement, ANZ CEO Shayne Elliott spent the day talking to a wide variety of stakeholders – from the investor community, government and regulators, the media, and Suncorp and ANZ staff.
