Sarah Stubbings appointed ANZ Regional Executive, Pacific

ANZ today announced Sarah Stubbings has been appointed Regional Executive, Pacific, with responsibility for ANZ’s businesses across 10 Pacific markets.

ANZ Group Executive, New Zealand and Pacific, Ms Antonia Watson said: “The Pacific region is critically important to New Zealand and Australia and remains a key part of ANZ’s international network.

“I’m confident that Sarah is the right person to lead our business as the region recovers from the impacts of Covid-19 and looks to sustainable growth.”

Ms Stubbings brings a breadth of experience from senior roles within ANZ, including Chief of Staff to former ANZ Australia CEO; Head of Home Loan Product; and most recently Portfolio Lead Responsible Banking, where she has overseen large scale customer remediation programs and was actively involved in ANZ’s response to the Australian Royal Commission into Banking.

“Sarah has demonstrated that she has a passion for building businesses and cultures that people can connect to.

This is underpinned by a focus on collaboration, strong risk and regulatory foundations, customer fairness, data, innovation and always looking ahead,” Ms Watson said.

Ms Stubbings will be based largely in Suva, while staying connected to her family in Melbourne. She will commence in early August, subject to the necessary regulatory and travel approvals.

Commenting on her appointment, Ms Stubbings said: “I have a humble appreciation for the region’s diversity and the ongoing impact of Covid-19.

“I’m looking forward to learning more about our customers, the communities and how we can continue to support economic development and financial infrastructure in the region,” Ms Stubbings said.
