ANZ names Chief Financial Officer

ANZ Bank New Zealand (ANZ NZ) today announced Amanda Owen has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer. Ms Owen, who has been Acting Chief Financial Officer since July 2021, starts the permanent role immediately. 

 

Since starting with ANZ in 2002, Ms Owen has held a number of roles including Head of Finance Business Partnering and Divisional Financial Controller.
 

ANZ New Zealand Chief Executive Antonia Watson said Ms Owen, who would also sit on ANZ New Zealand’s Leadership Team, brings a wealth of hands-on experience to the role.


“Amanda has demonstrated her strong skill set and leadership abilities as Acting CFO. We’re delighted to have someone of her calibre in this key role.


“The New Zealand economy has proved more resilient than expected but we’ve seen a noticeable change in consumer sentiment. We continue to watch the situation carefully and as CFO Amanda will be integral to the strategy and direction of our business and how we support our customers.”

 

Ms Owen began her career at KPMG in Wellington and London before joining ANZ.


She has a Bachelor of Business Studies (Accountancy), a Diploma in Business Studies (Business Law), is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a chartered accountant.
